Plaza de Revolucion (Plaza of Revolution) - which has a large Che Guevera tribute.
Cuba is full of old cars from the 1950s. The green car here with the door open, is the car that took me from my hotel into Havana.
Square in old town Havana
This is in the old town of Havana. Lots of the buildings are old and falling apart, but they are (bit by bit) renovating the old buildings in Havana. It is a beautiful old town and I wish that I had more time there.
Hotel Ambos Mundos, Cuba - this is the hotel where Hemingway rented a room in the 1930s and (I think) did a lot of writing.
Beach at the door step of my hotel in a place called, Jibacoa. The hotel that I stayed at was half way between Havana and a popular resort area called Veradero. I was about 1 hour from each area (by car), so relaxation and quite is what I got!
This is another shot from Jibacoa beach where I stayed.

Wow Kate! What a fantastic job you are doing of getting to see the part of the world you are living in! Havana looks every bit as beautiful as my imagination has always held it would e. It looks like a lot of tourists make it there too. I love that ther is a busker sprayed up to look like a stratus outside the hotel! That green car is crazy! Is that a tourist thing too? Or is just what is being driven over there? I would love to hear or read in depth accounted whatyou did, ate, and saw while there. Cuba has always been very interesting for me. Lovely photo quality too, by the way. You can see you aren't using a point and shoot camera. Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you on this. Life just happens, and suddenly I realise I have forgotten to do a bunch of stuff I promised to do, like contact my sister :( I'll mail you soon. Lots of love,
A
